Our Mental Health Training

All training is certified by Mental Health First Aid England and delivered by qualified and experienced facilitators

MHFA - 2-Day Adult Course

Train as a Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider®) and receive three years of certification, plus access to ongoing benefits.    

In addition to the course, your staff will become part of the largest MHFAider® community in England, gaining access to resources, ongoing learning and 24/7 digital support through MHFA England’s MHFAider Support App®.

MHFA - 1 Day Champions

This one-day course trains you as an MHFA Champion, giving your teams the following: 

  • An understanding of common mental health issues
  • Knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness
  • Ability to spot signs of mental ill health
  • Skills to support positive wellbeing

MHFA - 1/2 Day Awareness

This course raises awareness of mental health. It covers:

  • What mental health is and how to challenge stigma
  • Basic knowledge of some common mental health issues
  • An introduction to looking after your mental health and maintaining wellbeing
  • Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue

MHFA Governance & Implementation Support

A training course is just the first step. New skills, like those learned by Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders), need implementation and ongoing support. In our experience, MHFAiders often are not supported effectively, and organisations may not be ready for their launch.

Before introducing MHFAiders, consider:

  • Governance & safety
  • Risk management
  • Ongoing support for MHFAiders

When launching, think about:

  • How to communicate the role and its limitations
  • What other mental health supports are available
  • How employees can easily find their local MHFAider
